Hostaway is seeking a highly motivated Director of SEO (Content, AEO/GEO) to join our team and drive our growth in the market.
About the role
As the Director of SEO at Hostaway, you will drive our position as the global authority in the short-term rental industry, shaping our reputation as the go-to source for operational excellence and PMS selection. You’ll spearhead a unified SEO and AEO/GEO strategy to grow high-intent organic pipeline and ARR across priority regions, while building the systems and team that keep us ahead of rapid search evolution.
Responsibilities:
Drive organic pipeline and ARR targets by owning the global organic growth strategy (SEO, AEO, GEO).
Develop and implement playbooks and guidelines for AI-answer inclusion, structured knowledge, and citation programs.
Define and prioritize company-level organic topics, themes, and regional strategies (NAM, EMEA, ROW).
Maintain a transparent backlog, manage PR strategy, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align organic efforts with business goals.
Set technical north stars and KPIs for web performance, crawl/indexation, schema, and internal linking, ensuring robust measurement and log-file analysis.
Lead the creation and execution of SEO technical specs and roadmaps, collaborating with WebDev on release planning, prioritization, and technical experimentation.
Set and approve content themes, objectives, and sequencing to align with topical authority and brand visibility goals, ensuring the content calendar supports top prompts and organic keyword search for improved presence in LLMs and top-of-funnel growth.
Establish content frameworks and acceptance criteria (including E-E-A-T and localization), and greenlight programmatic templates to ensure high-quality, answer-ready, and regionally relevant content.
Job requirements
4 - 6 years of content marketing experience and 2 - 3+ years of owning strategy and leading a team, preferably in B2B SaaS.
Understands technical SEO fundamentals and has prior experience leading web development or with close collaboration.
Proficiency in keyword research tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush) and CMS platforms.
Excellent understanding of the dynamics involved in the shift from traditional SEO to AEO/GEO.
Experience with HubSpot (or similar marketing automation platforms).
Familiarity with Google Analytics (GA4), Unbounce, and SEO monitoring tools.
Understanding of social media scheduling and listening tools.
Curiosity for learning, deepening your knowledge and skills, especially in all things technology, AI, and short-term rentals.
