About the role
As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Hostaway, you'll take ownership of building and evolving the interfaces that our customers rely on every day. You'll be a key contributor to our frontend architecture, working in close collaboration with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver intuitive, high-performance experiences at scale. Beyond shipping features, you'll help raise the bar across the team — through code reviews, mentorship, and driving technical improvements that make everyone more effective.
Our technical stack:
Frontend: JavaScript, React, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, Redux-Saga, RESTful API, Webpack, Figma
Tools: Jira, GitHub (code reviews), GIT, Jenkins, Slack, Confluence
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-quality UI components, features, and reusable libraries that support our design system.
Develop intuitive, performant, accessible, and responsive user experiences across browsers and devices.
Build and maintain frontend integrations with backend services, including REST APIs, and WebSocket-based real-time functionality.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex frontend issues, including memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, and production bugs.
Define, present, and lead relevant technical initiatives with a clear understanding of the challenge, why it matters, and the impact the delivery brings.
Contribute to testing, code reviews, architecture decisions, and engineering best practices to ensure quality and maintainability.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and support the monitoring and reliability of released software in production.
Job requirements
6+ years of frontend software development experience, with a strong track record of building scalable, maintainable applications.
Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS and HTML.
Experience with state management solutions such as Redux, Context API, or similar.
Hands-on experience integrating with backend systems using REST APIs, and/or WebSockets.
Comfortable using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) as part of your daily workflow, and able to get real leverage out of them.
Strong ability to diagnose and fix memory leaks, frontend performance issues, and browser/runtime inefficiencies.
Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or Playwright.
Proficiency monitoring and supporting production software.
Demonstrated expertise in cloud-native development, with a strong understanding of how to build and maintain resilient and scalable frontend architectures in a cloud environment.
Bonus points for
Experience working on a mature SaaS product, with a focus on improving and extending the UI for a large user base.
